I am absolutely devastated and outraged by the way Holland Veterinary Hospital handled my dog’s emergency. I brought my dog in fighting for her life, terrified and begging for help, only to be turned away because I did not have the full payment up front. In that moment, my dog was suffering, and instead of compassion or urgency, I felt like I was treated as just another bill. I want to make it very clear that I was never trying to avoid paying—I fully intended to pay and would have done whatever I could to make it happen. After being turned away, I rushed my dog to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she received the lifesaving surgery she needed for pyometra for only $382—a fraction of the $1,200 I was told I had to pay up front elsewhere. That alone speaks volumes. When your pet is dying, you pray for mercy and humanity, not rejection. It is heartbreaking to know that while one place refused to help without immediate full payment, another stepped up and saved her life for far less. That is something I will never forget. Because of this experience, I would never recommend Holland Veterinary Hospital to anyone seeking emergency care for a beloved pet. In my opinion, trust, compassion, and care should come before anything else in a true emergency.

They really helped us out when we needed an emergency bottle of insulin for our diabetic dog when we were 2,000 miles from home on a road trip. Very friendly and understanding staff, can't thank them enough for their help.
